Path Social Review: Everything You Need to Know Before You Sign Up
When I first heard about PathSocial, I was hopeful. But what followed was nothing short of a letdown. This company should be removed from the internet”
- Purpose: Growing your business via social media is trendy, popular and looks too good to resist. Path Social promise the world and at first glance appear legit but we uncover the ugly truth
- Credibility: Our clients were repeatedly asking for what works and what doesn’t, where to start and who to trust. We’d heard about Path Social but needed to test how legitimate they are ourselves before writing this review.
- We Tested if the system they promised would work so we created a completely new profile, one that we’ve done no work on in the past. The account had to be so new that the results couldn’t possibly be altered by anyone but Path Social.
1. Promises vs. Reality: What PathSocial Claims to Deliver
- Advertised services, such as organic Instagram growth, real followers, and community engagement. Were the main areas of our investigation
- The fact that they promised organic followers and real engagement without any access to your instagram account screams SCAM to us.
We purchased a year subscription from Path Social and post likes. Total investment $691.50
We gained access to the dashboard which looked pretty straight forward and easy to use. We created the target audience, age location (United States) and hashtags that we wanted targeted. With all settings created we were eager to see what results would come.
We gained followers the first day, but not the type of followers we wanted. The profiles that were following were mostly set as private. Plus a lot of the followers were from outside of our targeted region.
We approached Path Social via chat and were told they would immediately fix the issues and make sure it didn’t happen again.
We gave them time to adjust their software and start attracting the correct audience for us. Two days later and were still seeing the same issues, more followers from outside the USA and none of the audience they were attracting were relevant to the hashtags we were targeting.
We tried a second time to chat with Path Social and request they review their settings. We were told they had escalated the issue to their tech team to make sure they would only target my settings.
Unfortunately two days later again and nothing had changed. In fact it became worse, now likes on our posts had stopped. To date, only one post that we created received likes, 43 of them to be exact.
We confronted Path Social one last time and got the exact same response as previous. We asked for a complete refund and was told they would escalate it to the refunds team to discuss. We noticed every chat session text they sent was almost exactly the same as the previous chat.
So with that we escalated the refund for them to Paypal. And this was when things really started to get bad. Path Social immediately refused the refund with Paypal claiming that we were correctly billed in line with their policies.
We submitted all documentation to Paypal including a copy of the refund policy
Paypal asked for a copy of the sales agreement but we were unable to supply one because no sales agreement is provided by the sellor. Not at the checkout and certainly not viewable on the website.
We opened many email exchanges with Path Social and even received confirmation in writing that Path Social agree to the refund, but that was not what they were saying to Paypal.
But it starts getting very strange from here forward. We were refused the refund from Paypal, but we are not the first people to lose. We found another horrible review with the exact same situation and circumstances here: https://www.pissedconsumer.com/company/pathsocial/pathsocial-stole-515-from-me-202406145921997.html
In addition to being refused a refund they also deleted & cancelled what we had paid for
And It’s happened more than twice, here are a few more Path Social reviews .
2. The Customer Experience: My Disappointing Journey
- Communication: We had ok communication even though it felt mechanical in the good times. Something about it just felt odd. If you’re talking to your Path Social account manager “Liam Meadows” you’ll get a very generic response as if he’s reading from a script
- We did a little digging into our Path Social Account Manager Liam Meadows and strange enough he doesn’t seem to exist online, odd…
- The communication that you’ll receive from Path Social is at best vague when it comes to your complaint. Impossible to get a straight answer out of Liam and if you escalate the issue to the main Path Social team its just more of the same BS
3. Unethical Practices: Shady Operations and Misleading Tactics
- We thought we would dig a little further into other client reviews to determine if its us that are wrong or if more people had suffered the same with Path Social. The results were scary.
- We first noticed the Path Social Trust Pilot review. You can view it here: https://www.trustpilot.com/review/pathsocial.com Notice that someone has changed the company name from Path Social to Growyoursocial. The link url also takes to you that site when clicked.
- It is our 20 years experience in SEO that leads us to believe that this is done for the sole purpose of Path Social hiding the Trust Pilot review so nobody can find it. Plus it makes it unclear to future reviewers which company they are reviewing.
- We Trust Pilot twice for a comment regarding this profile, so far they have refused to respond.
4. Path Social Reviews From Other Websites

5. Better Business Bureau
A large number of complaints/ Path Social Reviews have been lodged with the Better Business Bureau here: https://www.bbb.org/us/ca/los-angeles/profile/social-media-marketing/path-social-1216-1000025102
You can lodge official complaints with this office. An interesting find is that the Better Business Bureau has the Path Social official address phone number registered as
Contact Information
1150 S Olive Street, Los Angeles, CA 90015-2211
(310) 848-1269
https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100065105936912
https://www.instagram.com/path.social/
So we researched the address and found a number of businesses related to this address. All belonging to law firms including Path Law Group.
6. Lessons Learned: How to Avoid Similar Scams
- If it sounds too good and too easy it’s probably not real.
- The best way to grow your business is still the tried and tested methods
- Avoid schemes that charge yearly upfront
7. Conclusion: Final Verdict on PathSocial
- PathSocial failed to meet expectations.
- Other users are also complaining they have been subject to the exact same scam.
- Nobody answers the phone
- Too many things are confusing like the Trust Pilot profile, the address being registered to lawyers
- Their positive reviews appear to be paid or fake
- The followers they deliver are fake profiles or private profiles
- They cancel/delete your account when you ask for a refund and do not refund your money.
This is the exact type of business we believe should not be operating on the internet.
More effort needs to be made by unhappy clients to make the appropriate complaints, reviews & where necessary the correct legal action against Path Social.

Incredible points. Sound arguments. Keep up the good work.
These scum bags just tried to have my review removed from Trust Pilot for defamation. Luckily Trust Pilot reviewed the complaint and found that I was completely legit when I said this was a scam. My Path Social review was spot on and I hope everyone gets to see how bad this company is
